Question by Jack J: What are the best snow tire (and rims package) for my 2009 Hyundai Sonata?
Right now I have Hancock tires ( 215/55-17 ) that are absolutly horrible in the snow in upstate NY, so I was looking to purchase rims and tires for the winter. I looked at TIRERACK.COM and was looking to go down to smaller rims (215/60-16) which is suggested. But they suggest the goodyear eagle ultra grip GW3 which is a “performance snow tire”. I am close to buying this but was wondering if anybody had any other suggestions on a BETTER tire maybe that would fit my vehicle and give me better performance in these harsh winters? Or another website that offers different tires and rims? Thanks!

The Michelin Arctic Ice tires have worked very well for me in the snow of Vermont.
Most winter tires do a good job 90% of the time as they all have their limitations.
